How good would someone be able to get? I am 17 learn very quickly and in great shape as I’ve been wrestling 4 years, took 3rd in state my first year. I plan on training 5 days a week for 3 months. I am going to vist my Grandma and where i live there is no Muay Thai, Boxing or any kind of gyms.
Can i get pretty good that fast? Decent enough to beat a 17 year old with no Muay Thai training?

depends how hard you train.
what you should do is train hard for that three month’s
and afterword keep up all the stuff you learned
then after a while go visit grandma again
I do muay thai and im 17 as well.
I learned ALOT in my first month, so over three months you should learn a decent amount. Just train hard and be committed.
Get the basics down and get your teacher to be critical of your form so when you go away your training yourself right.
I don’t get what your trying to say with the whole ‘Decent enough to beat a 17 year old with no training’ thing.
If you want to beat someone in a fight and they come out harder than you, if they are really wild and just drive into you, your Muay thai isn’t gonna help as much as you might think it is.
No matter how much you’ve been doing you can get caught off guard in a fight, the same goes for them.
Just to let you know, Muay thai will teach you to fight and use most parts of your body as a weapon but by no means does it mean you will win in a fight.
As long as your aggressive, hit first and fast and make sure the reason you are fighting for is worth the trouble it will no doubt bring.
Hope that helps,
Shogun.
Muay Thai is the most simple, brutal, effective martial art you can ever learn. It is very “real world’ effective, because it focuses on basics, ie. simple, damaging techniques, practiced through sparing.
How good can you get in 3 months? Pretty decent actually. Since Muay Thai is fairly simple (only a handful of techniques), the majority of your training time is actually perfecting what you learn in a few weeks.
The majority of your training time is sparing and pad work, which directly cross over to your fighting ability. Unlike other martial arts, that may spend time kicking the air, or learning complex patterns, muay thai kickboxers spend their time working on their fighting for the ring.
The best part about Muay Thai, or even just plain boxing, is that because they are purely for fighting in the ring, gyms are rated on the pedigree of the fighters they produce. If a gym is putting out poor fighters, they will shut down fairly soon.
The three months you spend training will be the best three month of your life my friend. Muay Thai is one of the most rewarding sports you can ever compete in. Hell, I loved it so much, I moved to Thailand for a year to train it
